Welcome to the team page for the 2023-2024 Scott Carter Foundation Race Season! The Scott Carter Foundation is devoted to raising funds for children's cancer research. Scott was a 13-year old boy who died in December 1993 after a courageous three-year battle with bone cancer. He believed that if enough time, energy and money were devoted to children's cancer research, a cure could be found. During the duration of his illness, he put together a remarkable collection of sports and celebrity memorabilia, which was previously on display at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Each year, SCF partners with runDisney to participate in all their run events to raise money and further Scott's dream of finding a cure! Every season, we partner with a few hundred runners, from all over the world, to participate in all runDisney events and raise money for SCF. Because SCF is operated out of the Carter's home by mostly volunteers, the majority of money raised goes toward funding research projects. Thank you for joining us as we work together to find a cure!
From the start line to the finish line, Disney will ensure that Every Mile is Magic! This year, we are going Coast to Coast! SCF plans on participating in the 2023 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, 2024 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend, 2024 Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend, 2024 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and 2024 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend.
Our fundraising requirements are $300 per bib for repeat runners and $400 for new runners. All fundraising is due 45 days before the event start date.
